Being the fanboys that we are, it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t take a moment acknowledge the untimely passing of Joel Goldsmith. Joel was an Emmy-nominated composer who scored a number of our favorite films and television shows. His credits include several Stargate television properties, Sanctuary, the live-action adaptation of Witchblade, along with a few Sci-Fi cult-classics from the late-70s and early 80s, such as Moon 44 and LaserBlast. For a while, it seemed like the cult favorite Stargate series refused to die; between SG-1’s long run, Atlantis, and the more recent Stargate Universe, it just kept chugging along. Unfortunately, you’re going to have to take a portal to another world if you want to see more Stargate Universe after the final set of this season’s episodes — SyFy has officially cancelled the series. This leaves the fate of the entire Stargate franchise in question. Read more…

Frankly for me Stargate was like frozen food, if there was nothing else around at the time I wanted to watch some sci fi I’d have to settle for it! I’ll be honest it was the low budget feeling to the show, and also I got that “hidden secrets of Atlantis” thing out of my system years ago. However sadly it seems I’ve overlooked the Stargate F-302 which has a pretty nice design to it — now that I’m seeing it outside the show!
