While some may question some of their business practices now that they’re under the shadow of Activision, one thing is for sure: Blizzard still knows how to make some damn-fine cutscenes. StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is out in only two weeks, on March 12, and Blizzard has a fancy cinematic trailer to get everyone pumped about the continuing story. Sure, there’s no gameplay, but look how cool it is!

Has it really been over two years since StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty came out? I’ll be honest, despite my interest, I haven’t even had a chance to play it yet. So I feel really behind now that Blizzard has actually given out a release date for their upcoming expansion, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm. What have you been doing for the past 6 months? Working? Saving? Well Sven Junga has been building an enormous replica of the Hyperion battle cruiser from Starcraft II. In my opinion? Totally worth it. It’s incredibly detailed, all the way down to the small windows on the front. Tons of “greebles” (the LEGO builder term for the small technical details all over the surface of the ship) cover the body of the vessel to help make it look authentic. Amazing job, Sven. Read more…

This StarCraft 2 cake is pretty detailed! You’ve got your Nexus, your Probes harvesting minerals, vespene gas nodes, terrain height differences … the only thing that could make it more accurate is an adjoining cake that shows the Zerg six-pooling you. Though I suppose it’s hard to make “scrub” out of fondant. A valiant and ostensibly delicious effort nonetheless. Read more…
