With the AMC Preacher pilot planning to film this summer, things are heating up in the casting room. Rumors are now circulating that AMC has a certain actor in their sights to play Jesse Custer: Dominic Cooper. The actor has just finished up a stint as Howard Stark in Agent Carter, and is reportedly the top pick to play the tough reverend. As of yet, he hasn’t been offered the part, but Tracking Board claims he’s the most likely choice at the moment. Preacher is being produced by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen. The frequently violent and gross series will definitely be tough to adapt for an AMC audience. It remains to be seen how it’ll turn out! Read more…

Yes, Preacher fans, after much waiting and agonizing, AMC has finally ordered a Preacher pilot. It’s still not final, but aside from ordering the show itself, this was the final hurdle. Let’s hope the pilot turns out well! Read more…

It seems after ages in limbo, a live-action Preacher adaption will finally see the light of day. The This Is the End team of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will be palling up with Sam Catlin of Breaking Bad to adapt the series for AMC. It seems the cable channel thinks they have the next big Walking Dead-ish hit on their hands — or at least some potential. Now, I’m not a big fan of Preacher, but I know a lot of you out there are. Do you think Rogen and crew can adapt it properly? I wonder how AMC will handle it — and what’ll change from page to screen. Read more…

In their search for the next big thing, AMC is looking in places you might not expect. Badass Digest is reporting that they’re hearing from multiple sources that AMC has ordered a pilot of Preacher, a TV adaption of the crazy comic. A lot of people out there are big fans of Preacher, and many have tried to get it made into a film before. Then, to add to the hype, Seth Rogen tweeted that he might get to bring one of his “favorite stories ever” to life. Following which he then said “Arseface. John Wayne, The Saint of Killers,” referencing two characters in the series. Could Preacher become AMC’s next big thing? I have my doubts, but who knows that the future holds? Read more…
