Katamari Damacy became a cult classic for good reason: it was an original gameplay concept based on a simple mechanic and a surreal style. Creator Keita Takahashi has since become disillusioned with making games and, after the similarly bizarre non-game Noby Noby Boy (which is more of a toy), he left Namco Bandai to do things like make playgrounds. But alongside Wild Rumpus and Venus Patrol, he’s working on a new indie game called Tenya Wanya Teens, though you’re more likely to find it at indie development gatherings, or perhaps an art installation. Ever sit down to play Katamari Damacy and wonder what led the King of All Cosmos to sport those ridiculously tight pants, or chiseled abs?
