Anyone can take a movie and toss it up on an IMAX screen. But to make a movie worth the surcharge, it usually requires that part of the movie was actually shot on IMAX cameras, something that director Christopher Nolan loves to do. While Interstellar might have gotten more mixed reviews, it can’t be denied that it’s even more visually stunning in IMAX. The movie has been out of theaters for a while, but you’ve got one more chance to see it in IMAX. AMC has announced that select IMAX theaters will show Interstellar — with twelve minutes of additional footage — this Saturday, February 21, at 3PM. You’ll have to buy the tickets at the box office, since it’s not available online, but as a trade-off, you’ll get two tickets for the price of one. The first 300 people will get a set of Interstellar prints. Check the list below and plan accordingly. Read more…

Not long now — Interstellar will be arriving in theaters November 7th (and we’ll be getting a new trailer soon), but here are some new posters to make the wait a little easier. This trio of promotional posters aren’t crazy special (aside from that space ship one, above), but they definitely drive home the themes of the film: hope, exploration, and survival. I’m hoping that the film can deliver on all the hype, as Nolan has faltered before when things get too bloated (e.g., Dark Knight Rises). Yet, despite the grandeur, this movie appears to be a bit more personal, so with any luck, that’ll come through. Two more posters below! Read more…

It’s not long now until Christopher Nolan’s next film arrives. Interstellar will show up in November, but until then you’ll have to make due with this new trailer. It features all the hallmarks of a Nolan production: interesting visuals, overly cheesy dialogue, and a solid cast. I’m really loving the cinematography and stellar imagery here, and I hope the alien worlds are as interesting as the glimpses in the trailer. McConaughey seems to be doing a good job too (but he’s been on a roll recently anyway). Check out the trailer and then begin your waiting! Read more…

Last December we got our first teaser of Christopher Nolan’s next film, Interstellar, and it was probably the best advertisement for NASA in a long time. Now, Warner Bros. has released a full-length trailer, and it continues to foster that sense of discovery. Matthew McConaughey sets of to find a new home for humanity as the earth slowly becomes unable to sustain food, and all of the visuals look amazing. I love the design of their space ship as well — it reminds me of old space illustrations. This trailer has all the right elements in it to get me excited. Now we’ve just got to wait until November 7th. Read more…

So far we’ve only seen bits and pieces of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, Interstellar. Even the teaser trailer barely revealed anything. What a turn from the typical Hollywood advertising! That makes these two new pieces of media even more special. First up is the new poster for Interstellar, which continues the theme of looking to the stars. Pretty bold of them to use a vertical logo, too! Also released was the first still from the film, via EW, which features Matthew McConaughey, Timothee Chalamet, and Mackenzie Foy. The new trailer will hit on May 16th, along with Godzilla in theaters, and the film itself will release November 7th later this year. Read more…

Director Christopher Nolan is known for keeping details of his movies private, so we still don’t know a lot about Interstellar, his sci-fi film set for release November 7, 2014. Going by this first teaser trailer, we at least know something of the film’s tone. The teaser focuses on the great advancements humanity has made over the past century in terms of space travel, then hints at where we can go from here. Essentially, the teaser is reestablishing that space is the final frontier, and there’s a refreshing sense of optimism about exploring it. I think we’ve had enough grim realism in our sci-fi films and could use more optimism now that NASA is struggling to still inspire wonder about our universe. Read more…

I really am starting to wonder what Christopher Nolan has in store for Interstellar, his upcoming sci-fi film. We still don’t know many story details, aside from that it may incorporate both space travel and time travel. And: the absolutely massive, stacked cast. Just look at this list: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine, Ellen Burstyn, Timothee Chalamet, Mackenzie Foy, Bill Irwin, and John freaking Lithgow. Not only that, the two latest additions over the past week were Topher Grace and Wes Bentley. Holy. Crap. Will there even be any extras in this movie? Or will every part be played by a recognizable actor?! We’re a little over a year away now, as Interstellar will arrive November 7th, 2014. Read more…

The first name I’m going to throw at you will be no surprise: Michael Caine. Christopher Nolan’s “good luck charm” will be returning to act in his next film, Interstellar. That’s not surprising at all, given that he’s been in almost all of Nolan’s recent films. However, a new face in the Nolan-verse is Jessica Chastain, off of Zero Dark Thirty. She seems like a great pick, especially as she’s been recently showing up in a bunch of big films. So now the two new cast members sit with Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway – I want to hear more about the story now. But we’ve got a long wait till November of next year. Read more…

Slowly but surely more details are falling into place for Christopher Nolan’s next big film, Interstellar. While we already have a general idea of the synopsis (interstellar space travel), we haven’t heard much in the way of casting until now. Rumors are now swirling that Nolan is looking at Matthew McConaughey to star as the main character. While the deal isn’t finished, I think it’s safe to say McConaughey will accept if the offer is there. But mostly I’m just wondering how many of Nolan’s favorite actors will return for this film. A while back we heard rumors that Christopher Nolan had chosen his next film, and that it would be a sci-fi adventure about interstellar voyage across the reaches of space. Appropriately titled Interstellar, it seemed like solid news but hadn’t been confirmed until now. Nolan also stated that the film would arrive on November 7th, 2014, in a joint release between Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures. His brother and frequent co-conspirator, Jonathan Nolan, will be writing the script and Emma Thomas will produce along with Chris. So: get your hype engines ready! This will be a huge film for 2014.
