BioWare knows it has to make up for Dragon Age 2 after a mixed reaction from fans. From all that we’ve got to see of Dragon Age: Inquisition in preview form, it feels like BioWare is really swinging for the fences, manically working to make an epic game that everyone can enjoy. This launch trailer looks pretty great — not just the game itself, but the beautiful graphics. It makes me kind of sad I’m behind on these games; I never finished Dragon Age: Origins, so maybe I’ll be returning to that one in an attempt to catch up to Inquisition.

I wrote this yesterday, and then BioWare releases a gameplay trailer for the game. I should complain about other games we’ve barely seen anything of, just to see if developers will release more info! (Looking at you, Half-Life 3.) Yes, there’s a full trailer of Dragon Age: Inquisition, and it’s all looking pretty awesome. Varric returns, which is great, and there are certainly dragons. It seems that the game is still coming out in 2014, since we have a release date: October 7. This is another of those cross-generational games, as it will release on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. But enough talk, just go watch this trailer and hope that it satisfies you better than Dragon Age 2 did! Read more…

The third Dragon Age game is supposedly coming out in Fall 2014, but we still haven’t really seen anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if EA featured Dragon Age: Inquisition at their E3 presentation in June, but until then, we’ll just have to take it on faith that it’s still on track. As if to prove it, this box art has been released. It has some interesting composition, and it’s just good to see a game box for a fantasy game that has some color in it. Pale blue, red/orange, and is that some bright green I see? It’s not just browns and grays! Read more…

The E3 press conferences from non-platform makers generally have fewer announcements than their Big 3 friends, often retreading a few announcements, but there’s still some worthwhile news. With a new console generation about to happen (or already happening, if you’re satisfied with a Wii U), Electronic Arts has more than usual to show, for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Read more…

It should come as no surprise at this point, but Bioware and Dark Horse have announced an upcoming digital comic based on the hit title, Dragon Age: Origins. Titled Dragon Age: Those Who Speak, the three part series will focus on the characters of Alistair, Verric and Isabella, as they investigate the death of Alistair’s father. As a bit of a spoiler for anyone who has yet to play the game, Alistair is apparently crowned King at the end of the game, with the comic taking place during his reign. The first issue of the digital comic will be available on August 22nd.

Anime,

I’m not a big Dragon Age fan, but even I can tell that fans probably won’t be happy with this latest trailer for the Dragon Age anime film by Oxybot. Let’s face it: the CGI is terrible. The only things passable are the dragons, and even then that’s pushing it. It’s almost humorous when they’re treating it so seriously and the animation fails to help that in any way. Also, to help add legitimacy to the whole affair, GACKT is doing the theme song. Yup. Read more…
