Don’t get too excited though, next-gen-ers. This one is only on PC, 360, and PS3. Yup, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is a new game in the series, but it’s being done by 2K Australia while Gearbox works on other projects. The game will take place in between Borderlands 1 and 2, telling the story of Handsome Jack’s rise to power and how some of his crew came to be. And yes, you can now play as Claptrap. Some people really like Claptrap, you know? A lot of people, actually. I’m not one of them though. In fact, I’m pretty Borderlands’d out, so I think I’ll just watch from the sidelines this time around. Still — if more guns, a moon base, and extra Claptrap sound appealing to you, check out the trailer and dev video below! Read more…

It’s fairly hard to sort out the real news from the fake news on April Fool’s Day, but here’s something from yesterday that we’re pretty sure is true, since there were rumors about it prior to April 1. Telltale Games, known for their adventure games and most recently the critically acclaimed game version of The Walking Dead, has announced Poker Night 2. It’s a sequel to 2010’s Poker Night at the Inventory, which featured Team Fortress 2‘s Heavy Weapons Guy, Homestar Runner‘s Strong Bad, Sam & Max‘s Max, and Penny Arcade‘s Tycho. Read more…

Gearbox has been having a rough time recently, due to all the hubbub around Aliens: Colonial Marines. Personally, I’m not sure yet how everything played out, but it does make me hesitant to support them. Borderlands 2 is incredibly fun, and I want to keep playing more games like it, so hopefully Gearbox make things right. At SXSW Interactive, they debuted a short teaser trailer, showing off a very shadowy character – a new melee-focused Vault Hunter that you’ll be able to play as in the next DLC. There have been rumors of the level cap being raised as well, but don’t hold your breath – Randy Pitchford has repeatedly said it’d be very difficult to execute. For now, check out the teaser below! We had heard that Gearbox’s wildly-popular Borderlands 2 would be getting post-launch DLC before, a new character added to the game called the Mechromancer. This new character, Gaige, has a unique ability that lets her spawn a massive robot that’ll beat up your enemies for you, called DeathTrap. We now have the first official screenshot of the character, as well as a release date: October 16th. Read more…

Given that Gearbox’s latest, Borderlands 2, is coming out in a few short weeks, their marketing campaign is kicking into gear… box. No no, that was poor. Ignore that. What you should pay attention to is that they’ve made an excellent promo trailer with Sir Hammerlock narrating all the new features of the game – and there are a lot. I have to say, the art style looks much improved from the first game, just in levels of readability. The fact that you can get way more guns and abilities is great, too – now I need to make my group of friends to tackle everything! Read more…

Borderlands 2 looks like a pretty sweet game. In fact, this trailer did a good job of showing off the game – but there’s one little thing. I have no real problem with dubstep, but wow, is it just me or is it used in every game trailer these days? It’s getting really annoying, to be honest. There’s other music out there! At least they have a sense of humor about it, and have Claptrap dance awkwardly for your entertainment. Check out the trailer below for plenty of dubstep and extra guns. The game is out September 18th. Read more…
