“South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have set two live-action films at Paramount. Parker and Stone, who have re-christened their Par-based shingle Important Pictures, will first make the Jeff Roda-scripted high school comedy “My All-American.” They plan to follow with “Giant Monsters Attack Japan!,” a film scripted by J.F. Lawton (“Under Siege”) that will combine live-action with the “rubber suit” techniques made popular in Asian imports like Godzilla.”

Disney: Back to Traditional Animation

Posted by Michael Pinto on Jul 29, 2006 in Animation

Thank you Steve Jobs! According to a Reuters/Hollywood Reporter article Walt Disney Studios will be getting back in the business of traditional animation! It seems that their new project will be titled “Frog Princess” and will put a female spin on the classic fairy tale, according to sources. The project will be John Musker and Ron Clements, who left Disney after Treasure Planet bombed at the end of 2002. However the duo have a good track record having worked on The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Hercules. With any luck The Frog Princess should be out in 2008.
