Samurai Wars: Custom Toys From a Galaxy Far Far to the East
Wait until you get a load of these. Custom Toy artist, Sillof, recently completed his latest series of custom figures, entitled Samurai Wars, in which he took the cast of Star Wars, and re-imagined them as characters in a Akira Kurosawa masterpiece. The details on the figures are absolutely fantastic, from Obi Wan’s eye patch to Vader’s burnished iron clad armor — it’s clear that a lot of work went into these.
I’ve always had a lot of respect for custom toy artists. I imagine it must be difficult for them to create something this unique, but I would assume it’s even more difficult to take two separate genres and convey them both so perfectly. If only these were being mass-produced. For more information and detailed pictures of each figure, check out Sillof’s website.
