Konami Bundles Metal Gear Solid Into New Collection
Think you’re up-to-date on your Metal Gear Solid collection? You’ve got the original copies, the improved rereleases, the Essentials collection, and the HD collection? Well prepare to feel incomplete, because now there’s a new collection! But if you’ve never played a game in the series before, this is the one to get, because it covers pretty much every major game in the series!
That’s right, Konami has announced Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection. This includes: Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. MGS2, MGS3, and MGS: Peace Walker are all the redone versions featured in the 2011 HD Collection, and this version of MGS3 also features the original MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, the two 8-bit games that came out before Metal Gear Solid. In addition, the collection includes the two MGS graphic novels by Ashley Wood.
The downside is that when The Legacy Collection releases in June, it will only be on PS3. It’s a bummer, but since MGS & MGS: VR Missions were only on PS1, while MGS4 was only on PS3, it’s understandable.
