Rumored Iron Man 3 Plot Leak
It’s just a rumor, but Latino Review claims to have the scoop regarding the plot of Iron Man 3, including its potential villain — if you can call it that. Since it’s just a rumor, I’m not really sure how much of a spoiler it’d be but better safe than sorry. If you absolutely want to avoid any rumors about the film, and considering The Avengers hasn’t even hit theaters yet, that might not be a bad idea, then read no further. Otherwise, hit the jump.
So, according to the guys at Latino Review — I know, but they’ve had scoops that proved true in the past — the plot will revolve around nanobots. Specifically, nanobots that can “make villains,” and could also “make Tony Stark more than a man in the suit.” We’ve seen nanobots appear in numerous works of Science Fiction, and in most cases, they prove to be more trouble than they’re worth, despite being marketed as means to improve ones quality of life. Some fans are even speculating that the bots might be related to the serum but here’s where the real spoilers start.
According to the article, the idea for the nanobots is given to Stark by Steve Rodgers in The Avengers. In the comics, the idea for the Extremis serum stems from an attempt to recreate the original super-soldier formula. Unfortunately, the serum proves to be deadly to anyone who lacks a rare genetic sequence, making it a potential weapon of mass destruction. Again, all of this remains a rumor at best, but I’m sure it’d make for an interesting movie nonetheless. Thankfully Shane Black will be directing the film this time around, so maybe we won’t have to worry about Jon Favreau writing himself into it.
