Movie Poster Madness: Spider-Man Gets His Gloom On
It’s a movie poster kind of day it seems, and another addition is The Amazing Spider-Man, being directed by Marc Webb. It looks to be a fun and enjoyable look at Spider-Man, plus I did like Andrew Garfield in The Social Network, so I’m excited to see his work here. A new poster isn’t anything truly groundbreaking, but in this case I have a bone to pick with this one. Hear me out, okay?
Given what we’ve seen and all the previews released for the Spider-Man reboot, it’s going to be much more bright than this poster implies. Why such a gloomy setting? Sure, the spider shadow is a cool idea, but to be honest I think it sends the wrong message about this film. Also, not to nit-pick, but the perspective seems to fall apart the more you look at it. My eyes are so very, very confused. Lastly? “The Untold Story?” How in the world is Spider-Man an untold story? I think someone had a little too much fun writing the copy. Still, I’m interested in the film, so let’s hope it ends up alright.
